November is shaping up to be a good month in terms of cask ale. We had the Casks for a Cause recently which saw 12 cask ales (and 1 cask killa’) available for sampling. I really enjoy strolling down the pedestrians only section of Stephens Avenue and looking at all of the people out there enjoying the scene. My destination for the night was The Libertine Public House who were throwing a craft beer cask ale event that I couldn’t pass up. When The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company is involved I tend to show up!
House or apartment hunting is different for everyone. Having a good neighbourhood pub is one of the things that I look for when scouting out new areas to live. Luckily, Calgary has a bunch of pubs serving quality craft beer on tap. I recently went to the The Pig & Duke for a meal and a couple of pints and this neighbourhood pub is exactly the kind of local hang out that I look for.
