There are views and then there are VIEWS. Standing on the balcony at the Banff Inn and looking at the scenery, I could not be more content. Staring at the Rockies and anticipating my night of eating & drinking freshly brewed Alberta craft beers; I just could’t ask for more.
Attending craft beer festivals pays off! Like I mentioned in my post on the Kananaskis Craft Beer Fest not only do you get to taste premium beers, you get to meet a lot of interesting people. One of the guys that I spoke to at the festival was Kent Paterson, the head brewer at Banff Avenue Brewing Company. Kent told me that he was coming to Calgary on Saturday so we got to hang out for a while to talk about Banff Ave. and the craft beer scene in Alberta.
While in the car on my way to the Kananaskis Craft Beer Fest my spirits were exceptionally high. How could I not be in a good mood when I know that I am about to sample some great Alberta craft beer while enjoying this incredible scenery? There is something about the Rockies that just makes me happy to be in Alberta. They can keep all of the sandy beaches and tropical weather because my heart belongs in the mountains.
