It Was A Good Day For Beer

It’s funny how you can find inspiration to write about something. I have been mulling over different article topics for weeks. Yet all that it took was having an eventful day and boom, I knew what I wanted to say. This might come across as pointless to some but I think that this day, which was focused on beer of course, is a good indicator of how much our beer scene has grown over the last couple of years.  I hope that you agree. For The Love Of Brewing Beer

Today I have the pleasure of writing an article on my buddy, Jonas Hurtig. Jonas is a fellow beer lover (surprise surprise that we’d be friends) who also happens to be one of the best homebrewers that I’ve ever met. About a year back he made the jump into professional brewing. Soon one of his recipes will be released around the province as a seasonal one-off! So let’s get to know him a little bit. Favourite Winter Seasonals From BC Beer Bloggers & One Albertan

I have to say that I was pretty excited when I got the invite to collaborate with this group of British Columbia craft beer bloggers. The beer culture on our western coast is something for all of us to aspire to. Just looking at all of the dedicated bloggers out there gives you an idea of how popular their local craft brewing scene is. The idea behind this collaboration is for each blogger (West Coast Beer Geek, Mike’s Craft Beer, Dennis the Foodie, me &The BeerRater ) to choose 3 winter seasonal releases that we’re excited about. Since I am an Albertan my choices will come from our microbreweries. I should warn you that at the time of writing this one of my choices has not been released yet; I’m just really excited to check it out! Continue reading

Next up National 17 will be hosting another awesome event for another great cause. So let’s talk about that for a minute. Continue reading

More Wild Rose in Wild Rose Country

Wild Rose Country is seeing some big changes in their craft beer scene. For instance, Wild Rose Brewing Company (the first Alberta microbrewery that I fell for) has made some major moves recently. They opened up a new brewery, launched a different marketing campaign and of course, brewed more new beers for us to taste. Ya, 2014 is shaping up to be a good year for us Alberta craft beer hounds.
